Parenting is the easiest thing in the world to have an opinion about, but the hardest thing in the world to do.
Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.
One thing to ask yourself
Are you playing a victim or seeing an opportunity?
I realise that we live in a precarious time. The tides are turning and a lot of us are not getting the good side of it. However, there is always an opportunity in every situation.
If you are in a financial crisis right now? Going through a divorce, single “mummying” it, lost a job or whatever it is, could you think of this as an opportunity for something better or would you rather play victim?
I am asking myself the same question. Because this year has really been kicking me. I will answer mine while you answer yours.
Something to do this weekend
Check on your friends this weekend. Gift is not the only thing we can offer people. A phone call and your presence goes a long way. And we can all still be compassionate regardless of what we are feeling.
